A TERROR-FREE SOUTH AZERBAIJAN MEANS A TERROR-FREE TURKEY!
STATEMENT OF THE SOUTH AZERBAIJAN LIBERATION PARTY
In recent days, the large-scale attacks carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran’s military and political infrastructure indicate that a new and extremely critical phase regarding the future of the Iranian state has begun. At the end of this process, it appears that Iran’s military and security structures have been seriously weakened and various scenarios concerning the future of the country’s political system have come to the agenda.
In global political circles, serious possibilities regarding the future of Iran are being discussed: scenarios such as a change of the current regime, reform or transformation within the system, transition to a federal model, the fragmentation of the state, or the emergence of new political structures have now become open subjects of debate. This process demonstrates that Iran’s current political structure is in a deep deadlock.
The South Azerbaijan Liberation Party declares that any political change within Iran or the establishment of a new political order cannot take place without taking into account the will of the Turkish Nation of South Azerbaijan and its demand for “freedom, justice, and a national government.” The future of Iran, or the region without Iran, cannot be shaped without South Azerbaijan.
The lands of South Azerbaijan cannot become a field for the implementation of geopolitical plans of regional or global powers or for engineered ethnic projects. In particular, attempts to deploy ethnically motivated or terror-oriented armed groups in the Urmia region and the western belt of South Azerbaijan, or to create new military corridors, could lead to dangerous confrontations in the region, and such plans are firmly rejected.
The “Terror-Free Turkey” strategy implemented by the Republic of Türkiye is a legitimate and necessary security policy aimed at eliminating terrorist structures in the region. The weakening of this strategy or the redirection of terrorist groups to new geographies could only lead to greater security crises in the region.
At the same time, the reality of the “50-million Azerbaijani nation,” emphasized by the President of Azerbaijan, is a profound geopolitical fact that any new political order in the region must take into account. Without considering the rights and security of the Azerbaijani Turkish Nation, it is impossible to establish lasting stability in the region.
The South Azerbaijan Liberation Party declares that in any future political transition process in Iran or the post-Iranian regional order, the right of the Turks of South Azerbaijan to choose their national will must be the fundamental principle. The future of South Azerbaijan can only be determined by the will of the indigenous people of this land, and this will encompasses the national existence of South Azerbaijan and its national independent perspective.
