Campaign to Sign for the Freedom of South Azerbaijan’s National Activists: Let’s Raise Our Silenced Voices to the World Again!
Let us be the voice of the national activists from South Azerbaijan who have risen for the fundamental rights of our people!
Brave national activists from South Azerbaijan, under the oppression of the Iranian chauvinist regime, have been unjustly imprisoned simply for defending the right to education in their mother tongue and demanding the restoration of Lake Urmia. These honorable individuals, who seek nothing but the preservation of the values and natural and cultural heritage of South Azerbaijan, have been sentenced to a total of 87 years in prison without any legitimate reason! The Iranian regime seeks to silence their call for freedom, but through our solidarity, we can bring this voice back to the world!
This struggle is not only the fight of imprisoned activists; it is the struggle of the entire Turkish-speaking people of South Azerbaijan. By offering unified support for their just struggle, we can illuminate the path to freedom!

2. Bagher Haji-Zadeh – 13 years in prison
3. Araz Aman-Zinabad – 13 years in prison
4. Taher Naqavi – 6 years in prison
5. Morteza Parvin – 6 years in prison
6. Hossein Piri – 5 years in prison
7. Salar Taher-Afshar – 5 years in prison
8. Vadoud Asadi – 4 years and 6 months in prison
9. Saeed Minaei – 5 years in prison
10. Kamal Noori – 3 years in prison
11. Soleiman Mohammadi – 3 years in prison
12. Abdolaziz Azimi-Ghadim – 6 years in prison
13. Mohammadreza Faqihi (Azerbaijani lawyer) – 5 years in prison
These unjust sentences are a symbol of the Iranian regime’s pressure against our national and cultural rights. The Iranian regime, through banning education in our mother tongue and deliberately drying up Lake Urmia, seeks to silence the voice of the Turkish-speaking people of South Azerbaijan. But we will not bow to these injustices; we will bring the voices of our national activists to the international community!
