In the Name of the Almighty God
Greetings and respect to the dear Azerbaijani nation and to the honorable activists of the national movement.
In today’s world, many cultural struggles are directed toward freedom, human rights, and justice. It is natural that the official paths toward these goals must embody modern principles, resting not on emotion but on consultation, collective wisdom, and deliberation. Contemporary social movements across the world have reached results under the leadership of political parties and have nurtured prominent figures with broad influence and charisma.
Our homeland, which suffers under oppression, must not remain apart from this essential truth. It is well remembered that, for the first time, under the leadership of a democratic party, our nation tasted a year of freedom, justice, and human rights, and that the joy of that experience has never been forgotten.
Today, the news reaching us speaks once again of the higher unity and cooperation among currents belonging to the national movement.
With deep respect and affection, we salute the organizations and parties established on the path of the Azerbaijani nation’s demands for prosperity and freedom. Though we remain under the yoke of chauvinism, we consider it our national duty to give strength and encouragement to our dear friends who take united steps in pursuit of our homeland’s prosperity and in defense of the principles of the national movement. With sincerity and fraternity, we extend to them our hands in solidarity.
Dear friends, just as other movements around the world, through the potential of democratic parties, organizations, and coalitions, have shortened long and difficult roads for their peoples, so too do we warmly congratulate the new alliances that have emerged among us, which hold the potential to grow into greater fronts in the future. With joy in our hearts, we also look forward to the establishment of new parties and coalitions that may yet arise.
We are firmly convinced that by relying on collective wisdom we have the strength to move mountains. We recognize and commend the unity that has arisen in the past, and we wish success and happiness to all our devoted friends and to our homeland, Azerbaijan.
No one can halt a movement that determines its destiny upon the foundations of justice, freedom, and human rights. We must bring to life our motto: “The strength of the people is the strength of the flood.”
Long live the homeland! Long live the children of the homeland!
