Statement on the Adoption of the Emblem of the Council for Cooperation of South Azerbaijan Organizations (GATƏŞ)
The Council for Cooperation of South Azerbaijan Organizations (GATƏŞ) hereby announces the adoption of its official emblem. The emblem embodies the ideological and cultural identity of the Council, as well as the historical and national values of the Azerbaijani Turk Nation. The overall design of the emblem is inspired by the traditional Azerbaijani carpet art motif known as the “ilmək” (knot). The “ilmək” symbolizes unity, solidarity, and interconnectedness. The red lines at the center of the emblem represent this very symbol of the knot. The circle at the core of the emblem stands for the Council’s unity and the shared decision-making table, a symbol of equality and mutual respect among the member organizations that come together under a common platform. Surrounding the circle and the knot are red and blue lines arranged in the form of an eight-pointed star. This shape represents both the star on the Azerbaijani flag and the collective will of the nation to remain united.
The colors used in the emblem, red, green, and blue, reflect the colors of the Azerbaijani national flag and the moral values they represent:
• Blue: symbolizes Turkic identity,
• Red: represents freedom and modernity,
• Green: signifies the spiritual and faith-based roots of Azerbaijani Turk identity.
This emblem stands as a visual expression of the Council for Cooperation of South Azerbaijan Organizations’ commitment to the principles of national identity, unity, and confidence in the future.
